Here’s what you can look forward to on June 30:
12:00 p.m. ET — France Vs. Nigeria
Guess which team is favored to win… After an embarrassing exit in the 2010 World Cup, France has looked downright impressive this time, mostly thanks to Karim Benzema. The French ran through their group, even downing Switzerland — a seemingly worthy adversary — convincingly, 5-2. Nigeria, on the other hand, surprised everyone by making it out of their group. The odds are definitely stacked against the African nation, but remember, they did give Lionel Messi and Argentina some trouble, so don’t count them out just yet.

4:00 p.m. ET — Germany Vs. Algeria
And now, another match that seems pretty obvious on paper. The Germans wiped out Portugal 4-0, then tied a strong Ghana team before defeating the United States 1-0. They have one of the most stacked teams in the World Cup, and they’re right next to Brazil as favorites to win the whole thing. And then there’s Algeria. The Desert Foxes have been one of the biggest surprises this tournament — and their spirit is infectious. They’ve looked pretty strong at times, and their 4-2 victory against South Korea sent a message that they can score in bunches if you’re not careful. Who will take this one — the all-stars or the up-and-comers? My bet’s on the favorites in both of these games — I think you might actually see either France or Germany in the final — but I’ll really just be happy if one of today’s games go to PKs. I love the drama!
